The burial ground was Regional Runner Up for the North West in this year’s annual People’s Awards for the Best Natural Burial Ground in the UK.
The awards, which have been running for over 25 years, are open to members of the Association of Natural Burial Grounds and organised by The Natural Death Centre charity.
The accolade is based solely on feedback from families who have laid loved ones to rest.
Judges noted the ‘high level of customer care’, the ‘tranquil setting’, ‘attention to detail and compassion’ and the ‘exceptional help and guidance when arranging a ceremony’.
Rosie Inman-Cook, Manager of the Association of Natural Burial Grounds, of which Monument Meadow is a member, said: “All the natural burial sites that belong to our association are bound by our code of conduct, which ensures the highest professional and environmental standards.
“The People’s Awards are designed to celebrate the personal attention to detail and support given by staff at natural burial grounds, which can make such a difference to bereaved families.
“Our judges read all the customer reviews from the official customer feedback forms, which are sent straight to the Association for scrutiny, and look for a consistency of comments before they pick a winner.
“We were delighted to award Monument Meadow a Regional Runner-up People’s Award for their excellent customer service and care.”
