Monument Meadow is an award-winning five-acre natural burial ground located in South Cheshire on the edge of Farndon village with charming views across rolling countryside and the Clwydian Range.
It is a beautiful place to be laid to rest, set amid a wildflower meadow for loved ones to visit.
We offer a variety of sustainable funeral options, including natural burial and scattering of ashes.
The burial ground is situated on land belonging to the Barnston Estate, an historic family-owned Cheshire estate with deep roots in the local community.
Natural burial enables people to choose a funeral which is unique, in tune with nature and gentle on the environment.
"Thou know'st 'tis common; all that lives must die,
Passing through nature to eternity."
- William Shakespeare -
Instead of using gravestones, we have planted an abundance of local species of trees, bulbs and wildflowers to create a living memorial landscape.
It is a natural sanctuary designed to honour our deceased, to provide an attractive place for visitors to pay their respects, and to encourage local wildlife.
Monument Meadow is pleased to welcome people of all faiths from local villages and beyond. We cater for both religious and secular ceremonies.
A funeral at Monument Meadow follows no rules or format or set length of time - each one is individual to the wishes of the family or the deceased. We will of course guide you every step of the way.
